Charter Day 2019

Charter Day is the most important event in our Company’s calendar and is the commencement of our Company year.

Held on the nearest Wednesday to the 24th June, the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist, the Company's Patron Saint, this year’s Charter Day fell on Wednesday 26th June.

The proceedings began with a meeting of the Court at which the new Master, Mr John Short, and other Company Officers were sworn in. This was followed by the traditional procession through the City to the Parish Church of All Saints Pavement where the Company was joined by the Civic Party for the annual Church Service.

The Company and its guests then returned in procession to the Hall for a celebratory tea.
