Built in 1415, the York Merchant Taylors' Hall is one of the most significant medieval buildings in this architecturally rich city and has been a place to congregate, feast, make music and make merry for more than 600 years.
Our Open Days provide a wonderful opportunity for both residents and visitors to explore the Hall, find out more about our medieval guild and perhaps enjoy a musical, Company or seasonally themed performance, activity or display.
The Hall will be open 11am - 3pm and Company Members will be on hand to lead informal tours around the building and tell visitors about the remarkable history of the Taylors of York.
Entry is FREE and all are welcome. Parking is available close by at Monk Bar and Foss Bank car parks.
Today, visitors are also invited to join us from 11:30 - 12:30 for the third in our short series of surprise concerts. Each is given by a group of outstanding young musicians from the Department of Music, University of York , but details of the performers and programme won’t be revealed until the day.
Concert tickets must be reserved via Eventbrite please. Admission is free but donations to the Company in support of young musicians in the City are welcomed. Light refreshments on sale. Please contact the Hall Manager on 07454 321557 for a concert parking permit if you are a disabled badge holder.
